We need a peeler...

Hello fellow foodies!
This is Jessica and Brittani. We decided to start this blog, because we bought a cook book, and we wanted to share our experience with starving individuals who are fed up with top ramen, and old school frozen t.v. dinners.

Alright, ALRIGHT, enough of that. Let's get on to business!
This is the book we will be using:

Doesn't this book she spew out happiness?
We chose this book, because...well,
WE MISS HOME AND OUR MOMS!
Haha, who doesn't prefer mom's food from
all other food?

Now to cooking! Today, we made clam chowder!!
Why? Because it's the perfect weather for it! (68 degrees to be exact!)

Clam Chowder Recipe:

2  cans (6-1/2 ounces each) minced clams
2  cans (12 ounces each) evaporated milk
2  cans (10-3/4 ounces each) condensed cream of mushroom soup.
6 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
6  medium carrots, diced
1/2  cup chopped onion
1/2  cup butter, cubed
1-1/2  cups water
1  teaspoon salt
1/2  teaspoon pepper

serves: 12
(quick fyi, we did the half of everything, because it's only two of us,
and who ever of our roommates would like some. it was STILL a lot of food.)

First, you need to wash your veggies, peel your carrots, and potatoes, and thin cube them. Throw them into a big ole pot, (actually not that big, about a medium size). Dice up 1/2 a cup of onions, (watch out, you're going to cry), and also throw them in to your pot. Also add your water, butter, and clam juice that you get from your clams, (but make sure not to put the clams in yet, just the juice.). Cook it over a medium heat for about fifteen minutes (or until the veggies soften). Also, the book didn't say this, but we put a lid on it for the last six minutes to make sure the veggies softened.)

After that, stir in the soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer uncovered. Once the simmering begins, add the clams. Stir it, and bam! YOU'RE DONE!

Deeeee-licious! We really enjoyed making this fast and easy soup.
It was a great start to our journey cooking.
We're not avid cookers, but now that we've flown the
cope, we need to start eating better, and this is our only way.

We hope you enjoy this hearty soup just as much as we did.
Please let us know what you though, and if you did anything different to it.

Oh, and as for the title of today's post, well...yeah!
We really need to go invest on a peeler, and a few good knives. Haha!

'Til later, keep cooking, and...can you please pass the salt?
